We couldn’t have done it without you—we won the Primary Election with over 58% of the vote!

We are in a strong position to return to Olympia and continue our work to cap healthcare costs, address climate change, and improve college affordability.

These are challenging times for families and our nation, with many people are feeling the pressures of high prices and the effects of the presidential administration. I know that I can get discouraged with all of the bad news coming out of Washington, D.C.—but I'm grateful to have the opportunity to work on state and local issues that make a difference in our community.

I want to give a special thank you to everyone who has contributed to the campaign, whether that be knocking on doors, donating, attending events, or mailing in your ballot!

Make no mistake: there is still much work to do in order to return to Olympia. Over the next 11 weeks, we'll be doubling our efforts and working hard to connect with residents, listen to their concerns, and earn their vote in the General Election.

With your help, we'll win the General Election so that I can continue advocate for solution-driven policies in the 2027 Legislative Session.

From Rep. Clyde Shavers, August 2026 …

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Let me begin with the most important words I have: thank you.

Because of your support, we won the August Primary with 58.07%. That is not only a victory - it is our strongest result yet. In 2022, we earned 50.07%. In 2024, we reached 53.21%. This year, we climbed to 58.07%.

That progress matters because nothing about this journey has been easy.

Since you and I began this journey, outside groups have spent more than $424,000 against me - the highest total negative outside spending against any House candidate in the 10th Legislative District in the PDC history. This year alone, more than $46,000 has already been spent against us, far more than against any other candidate in the district.

Yet every time the road became harder, we climbed higher.

When we began this journey in 2022, we were told that winning would be impossible. But we did something historic: for the first time, the modern 10th Legislative District elected two Democrats to represent us in the State House.

We are living a story that began with an improbable campaign in 2022, survived one of the most expensive attacks in our district's history in 2024, and has now emerged stronger than ever in 2026. Each chapter has tested us. And we've won again and again.

And I believe the most important chapter is still ahead.

Our journey is about building the future of the 10th Legislative District - a future we intend to help lead.

So far, I've passed one of the largest expansions of the Veterans Service Officers program in state history ensuring more veterans than ever before receive the benefits they earned. As a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) policy, I've passed Washington's landmark AI transparency bill. And I've positioned our state as a leader in clean-energy technology by passing Washington's first fusion-energy bill.

Those are not small ideas. They are the kinds of ideas that can shape Washington for decades.

And now, I am preparing for an even bigger fight: taking on the corrupting influence of unlimited money in our elections and building a path toward overturning Citizens United. That effort could become one of the defining fights of the next legislative session - and it goes directly to the heart of what we have experienced together.

You are not watching this journey from the sidelines. You are part of our story. You were there when we were the underdogs. You stood with us when the attacks came. And you are here now, as something that once seemed impossible has grown into something much bigger.

And I am asking you to continue this journey with me.
