From State Rep. Dave Paul, May 2026 …

Friends,

As we prepare for the 2026 election, I want to first thank you for your support over the last eight years. Thanks to you, we flipped this seat in 2018. I got to work in Olympia and led efforts to invest in college affordability, lower prescription drug costs, and create living-wage jobs. At the same time, we are standing up for Democratic values, including protecting reproductive rights and supporting the LGBTQ community. But there’s still more work to be done.

This election is incredibly important, as I’m facing two MAGA opponents. Every day, Americans are suffering from the harmful policies of the Trump administration. We simply can not afford to move backward on issues like education, healthcare, reproductive freedom, and economic opportunity. Over the coming months, I’m looking forward to attending community events, meeting with residents, listening to concerns, and hearing new ideas from people across the district.

We are already building our volunteer team and preparing for a busy summer of doorbelling, phone banking, community events, and outreach—including plans for fun Fourth of July celebrations throughout our district. If you are interested in volunteering, getting involved, or learning more about the campaign, we would love to hear from you. If you would like to help with our volunteer efforts, please reach out to our campaign manager, Sheridan Robbins, at manager@votedavepaul.com.

Again, thank
s for all of your support. As always, it’s an honor to serve as your state representative.

Dave

From Rep. Clyde Shavers, May 2026 …

Dear friends and neighbors,

I ran for office because I believe public service should be about solving real problems and building a future worthy of the people we represent. That belief has guided my work in Olympia. As Assistant Speaker Pro Tempore, I have focused on issues that matter not just today, but for generations to come.

This year, I introduced and passed one of Washington's first broad artificial intelligence (AI) bills, because we should lead on responsible innovation - protecting people while making sure new technology serves the public good.

And just a few years ago, we also passed our first-of-its-kind fusion clean energy bill focused on environmental protection, helping position Washington at the forefront of cleaner energy while reducing long-term harm to our climate.

And as Vice Chair of the House Education Committee, I helped pass bills that bring more career-connected learning into our schools, giving students clearer pathways from the classroom to good jobs and meaningful careers.

Now, I am working on a major campaign finance reform effort aimed at pushing back against the damage caused by Citizens United. For too long, unlimited outside spending and dark money have given corporations, billionaires, and special interests far too much influence over our elections. I believe Washington can help lead the country in building a better model - one that restores power to voters and makes clear that democracy is not for sale.

These fights are connected. Whether we are talking about responsible technology, environmental protection, public education, affordability, or democracy itself, the question is the same: who gets a voice in shaping the future? I believe that future should be shaped by the people - by you.

Now, I have an opponent in this race. That means this campaign is real, and the stakes are real. I am proud of the work we have done together, but continuing this work will take resources, organizing, and early support from people who believe in the same future we are fighting for.

I hope you will consider making a contribution today at electclydeshavers.com. Your support helps us reach voters, share our message, and keep building a campaign rooted in service and the belief that public office should be about people - not power.

Thank you for standing with me. I am grateful for your encouragement and your continued belief in what we can accomplish together.

Always at Your Service,

Clyde
